On August 8, 2005, President Bush signed into law legislation that for the first time established efficiency standards for commercial clothes washers. These standards
become effective January 1, 2007. The new law mandates that new commercial clothes washers meet certain standards for BOTH energy efficiency and water
consumption. The standard requires that washers have a minimum MEF of 1.26, and a maximum WF of 9.5.

MEF => Modified Energy Factor – A measure of the energy efficiency
Higher is Better => A higher MEF indicates a higher level of energy efficiency
WF => Water Factor – A measure of water efficiency
Lower is Better => A lower WF indicates less water used

These new standards have no impact on machines that are currently in service.

After December 31st, Huebsch® will no long manufacture traditional mechanical timer topload washers. They will be replaced by coin slide models with an electronic control. These models will be approximately 10% more expensive than traditional mechanical timer models.

Huebsch electronic models already meet the 2007 standards and will continue to be available the same as today.

Huebsch Horizon® models already meet the 2007 standards and will continue to be available the same as today.

Huebsch HC (rigid-mount) models will also continue to be available the same as today.

If you have been considering replacing your older toploads with
the same type of machine, you
only have a short time to act. Traditional topload models will
not be available once manufacturers change over production to models that comply with new standards. If you need machines, contact your local distributor!
