Huebsch®
expands its C.A.R.E.™ System, a fire suppression system designed to
diminish laundry fires in dryer cylinders to its 120 and 170 pound commercial tumble dryers.
C.A.R.E. was created with the needs of institutional laundries in mind.
With a properly installed C.A.R.E. System, laundry managers and property
owners can be assured that at all times, the C.A.R.E. System is monitoring
their commercial tumble dryer’s cylinder temperature.
The system works quite simply. Its independent C.A.R.E. control
shuts the commercial tumble dryer down if it senses extreme temperature and sprays the
commercial tumble dryer contents with water. The system continues to monitor cylinder
temperature and reactivates if necessary. In addition, the system can
be connected to work in concert with an Auxiliary Alarm. With this connection,
the local fire department may be notified, or a light, alarm, security
pager, cell phone, etc. could alert personnel when the temperature within
the cylinder exceeds normal operation.
The system has been designed to give on-premises laundry
managers some peace of mind while the laundry is un-attended. With the
proper water and electrical connections, the C.A.R.E. System monitors the
cylinder temperature and is ready to respond to a cylinder fire. The
C.A.R.E. control and water valves are located outside of the cabinet to
protect them from potential heat damage. Redundant sensors and water
valves further improve the system’s robustness.
The CARE system is now available as an option on all 50, 75, 120 and 170 lb. on-premises commercial tumble dryers, with either manual or electronic controls.
